- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup cold unsalted butter, cut into small pieces
- 3/4 cup milk
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
Add the cold butter pieces to the flour mixture. Using a pastry cutter or your fingertips, cut the butter into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Make a well in the center of the mixture and pour in the milk. Stir gently with a wooden spoon or spatula until the dough comes together. Be careful not to overmix; the dough should be slightly sticky.
Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface. Knead the dough gently for about 1 minute, just until it becomes smooth.
Roll out the dough to about 1/2 inch (1.3 cm) thickness. Use a biscuit cutter or a round cookie cutter to cut out biscuits from the dough. Place the biscuits onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving a small space between each biscuit.
Gather the remaining dough scraps, gently re-roll, and cut out more biscuits until all the dough is used.
Bake the biscuits in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until they turn golden brown on top.
Remove the biscuits from the oven and let them cool on a wire rack for a few minutes.
Serve the biscuits warm with butter, jam, or your favorite toppings. Enjoy!
